In this workshop, we'll spend an hour discussing and experimenting with behind-the-scenes factors and variables that influence tone production on the violin/fiddle. We'll start with basic "classical" tone techniques (right-hand setup, pressure, speed, length, contact point, angle, tipping etc.) and then move into trad-specific techniques (pressure techniques like lilt and crunch, posture/setup modifications, tone in relation to slurs and string crossings, etc.).
