Fiddle Ergonomics and BAD HABITS
It's always good to know both what to do, and what not to do. In this workshop, we'll spend some time discussing and practicing how to set up your body (your torso, your head, and both of your arms!) in a way that encourages ease and efficiency and minimizes the risk of fatigue/pain. Then we'll talk about how to move those body parts along with your instrument in ways that fulfill the same goals AND produce beautiful sound.
The second half of the class will be devoted to common bad posture and technique habits...i.e., what NOT to do...and, importantly, WHY.
Who's this for: Fiddlers
Level: All. This subject can be as deep as you want it to be, and most folks (including professionals, including me!) have ergonomic issues that can always be improved.
