Tune Workout for Beginners/Adv. Beginners
Keep your tunes in shape with this warm-up, review, and new tune session for advanced beginners (equivalent to IAC's Level 2/3). We'll start with a few painless scales and exercises to get the notes flowing, then play through tunes selected from the list below.
Don't worry if you don't know all of these tunes! You can think of this as a session where you get to hear some tunes you don't know, identify ones you like, and then you can go back and learn them from the recording afterwards. We'll be playing at a slow/medium speed.
Road to Lisdoonvarna, Tobin's, Rocky Road to Dublin, Legacy, Rakes of Mallow, Road to Boston, Spotted Dog, The Ballygow, The Butterfly, The Wren, Drowsy Maggie, Rolling in the Ryegrass, Fanny Power, Lilting Fisherman, If There Weren't Any Women
After we play a few sets of tunes, we'll spend the last 20 minutes learning a barndance called "If There Weren't Any Women," which is the companion tune to "If There Weren't Any Men".
Who's this for: Any instrumentalists
Level: Beginner/Advanced Beginner (Level 2/3) or anyone who wants to review tunes with others!
